All my life I have explored along the shores of Lake Michigan

I grew up in Northern Michigan where the woods surrounded our home and a handful of lakes were just down the road. We spent summer days out at "the big lake" and weekends tubing down the Platte River. My dad would take us a mile up the road to "go for a dip" at the nearest inland lake. We were surrounded by water, nature and family.

I now call Holland, Michigan home. My husband and I spend summer evenings with our three children out at "the big lake" and weekends up at my parents home. They still live in the house I grew up in. Traveling between Holland and Traverse City during the summer are memories I hope our children never forget.

Photographing families along the lake is exactly where I want to be. I believe that the lake can be powerful, and beautifully healing in so many ways.
